These standards include: (1) a minimum number of years of professional wedding planning experience; (2) successful completion of designated education and training programs; (3) submission and approval of a professional portfolio of weddings planned and executed; (4) verification of references from clients and industry professionals; and (5) commitment to a professional code of ethics. The certifier, the Association of Bridal Consultants, conducts evaluations of applicants and grants the right to use the mark only to those who demonstrate compliance with these requirements.
