The mark consists of a circular mark with an outer ring containing the words " American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO" between two stars on top, opposite the phrase "CLERK DIVISION" disposed between two leading stars and two trailing stars at the bottom; a depiction of the Dome and building of the United States Capitol that overlays a partially circular background of stars and stripes elements of the U.S. Flag; an arched inner ribbon extending across the depiction of the Dome and building containing the words "Serving Postal Clerks Since 1971"; and the letters "A", "P", "W" and "U" below the depiction of the Dome and building, with each of the letters being separated from each other by a vertical stripe.
