The insignia is the Nation's flag which includes the Great Seal of the Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation in turquoise and peach which consists of and depicts an island in the Pacific Ocean with the sun rising behind it. In front of the island there is a prayer rock in the ocean, two Tolowa Dee-ni' baskets, an arrow, two acorns and a salmonid fish. The flag is banded in red on top and bottom There is a friendship pattern in black cross-hatches extending from the middle of the seal to the left and right edges of the flag.
