The shield is flanked on either side by a crowned, upright heraldic golden lion. The lions and shield are each set atop a field of green leaves. Below the leaves is a banner with a white center and brown outlines, and inscribed on the banner, in brown Cyrillic characters, is the Bulgarian translation of "Unity Renders Power".
