The mark consists of a Maltese cross with two concentric circles located in the center of the cross. Within the innermost circle is the horizontally oriented, stylized text, "THE RED GUIDE TO". Between the innermost and outermost circle is located, circumferentially, the stylized text, "RESOURCE HANDBOOK FOR DISASTER SURVIVORS".Within each of the four arms of the Maltese cross, oriented with the radial axis of the respective arm are the following letters and text: Left arm - "R", top arm - "E", right arm - "D" and bottom arm - "RECOVERY". On the outside of the left, top and right arms of the Maltese cross, oriented with the radial axis of the respective arm is the following text: Outside the left arm - "RECOVERY", outside the top arm - "EMERGENCY" and outside the right arm - "DISASTER".
