Additional Information

Design Mark
The mark consists of a circular seal with fluted edging. Working from the fluted edge toward the center of the seal, the following wording and design elements appear ring-like in this order: The wording "FERRUM COLLEGE", preceded and followed by a circular dot and the wording "IN HISTORIC VIRGINIA", appear ring-like in the outer portion, but within the seal edge. The next ring-like design element consists of a laurel wreath. Within the laurel wreath is the center design element which consists of three shields with wording above and below. A Latin cross appears in the center shield, a lamp appears in the shield to the left of the center shield, and a hand appears in the shield to the right of the center shield. Above the three shields is the wording "FOUNDED 1913". Below the three shields is a heraldic banner with the wording "NON SIBI SED ALIIS" contained within.
