The mark consists of a rectangle with a semicircle protruding from the center of the top side of the rectangle. The entire mark has a light gold border. The next interior border is dark brown and black, with an interior border, that is light gold. The background of the interior panel is light brown. At the top edge of the mark against the dark brown and black background is a crest against a light gold background bearing the light gold letters "MG" in the center of a red shield with a light gold edge, with red shapes extending out from the shield. A black trident extends horizontally outward from either side of the shield. Light gold arrows extend diagonally upwards from the top of the shield, two arrows slanting upward left and two arrows slanting upward right. The words "MOUNT GAY" appear in black letters on a light gold banner below the shield. At the center of the mark is a map of the island of Barbados outlined in gold and in the upper right quadrant of the interior panel are the words "MAP OF THE ISLAND OF BARBADOS", in gold letters, surrounded by various arbitrary and sometimes intersecting curved gold lines. Centered over the outline of the map of Barbados are the words "MOUNT GAY RUM" in black letters, "BARBADOS" in red letters, "PERFECTED BY TRADITION" in black letters, "SINCE 1703" in black letters. There is a red star on the map of Barbados. Below the map appear the words "EXTRA OLD" in stylized light gold letters with a black outline. Below that there are two red parallel lines extending horizontally across the interior panel of the mark with a break in the center of the lines where the words "TRADE A.F. WARD MARK" appear in stylized red letters. Below that appear the words, "BLENDED AND EXPORTED BY MOUNT GAY DISTILLERIES LIMITED BRANDONS, ST. MICHAEL, BARBADOS, WEST INDIES" in black letters.
