The mark consists of four shaded square designs displayed horizontally and drawn such that the first is dissected by a white "x" to form four separate triangles, the second has an unshaded square in the center, the third is dissected by a white cross forming four separate squares and the forth is dissected by two white vertical bands. Underneath these square designs appear the terms "MARINE POLLUTION RESPONSE GROUP". To the left of the terms and overlaid on the first square design appears an anchor with a rope attached such that the rope extends about the four square designs
