educational services, namely, conducting conferences, workshops, seminars, and homestudy courses in the field of drug abuse and alcoholism counseling and distributing course materials in the form of books, magazines and pamphlets in connection therewith

association services, namely, promoting and protecting the interests of individual member drug abuse and alcoholism counselors, member state associations of drug abuse and alcoholism counselors, and other members having a concern for the diseases of alcoholism and drug abuse by (1) cooperating with official and voluntary health, welfare, educational and rehabilitation agencies concerned with prevention, control and treatment of individuals afflicted with physical, emotional, and mental problems of alcohol or drug abuse, to better serve those who are afflicted and their families; (2) examining, endorsing and encouraging competent and comprehensive programs for the education of alcoholism and drug abuse counselors; (3) testing, analysis and evaluation of counselors in the field of drug abuse and alcoholism counseling for the purpose of certification (4) development and dissemination of information and literature of others to the public and to member counselors concerning drug abuse and alcoholism counseling issues; (5) representing the interests of members in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling before the U.S. Congress, State legislatures and federal and state agencies
